In 2009, God called a group of people together to form the World Wide WORD for ESL committee. Our purpose was to videotape all 15 lectures and spread the WORD of God throughout the world. Our committee members are Joy Mccarthy, Christine Mills, John and Sue Lee, Daniel Lee, Taehyon Ryu, Art Hamade and Karen Hamade.
Read a little about the team.
Joy McCarthy writes,
"The most vivid memory of my childhood occurred when I was 5 years old. I had gone to a meeting with my parents where the preacher talked about the time when Jesus would return again. Later my mother found me weeping in my bed. When she asked why, I told her, 'Jesus is going to come and you and daddy will go up and I'll be left alone.' My mother then told me how I could accept Jesus and go to be with him also. I quickly gave my heart to Jesus and since that time my desire has been to bring others to know him. When I was wondering if and where God wanted me to serve Him, God showed me that the best way to help an unreached people group was to give them a Bible. I went to Papua New Guinea with Wycliffe Bible Translators and translated the New Testament into two languages there. Seeing the power of God's Word is why I am sold on The WORD for ESL and hope you will let His Word speak to you
Christine Mills writes,
" I did not grow up in a Christian home but I always knew there was a God. I would talk to him and pray to him in times of need. Twice in my life before I became a Christian, I heard a warm, comforting voice coming from deep inside me to guide me in times of crisis. I called him my guardian angel but have since learned he is the Holy Spirit. I was widowed at the age of 42 and upon looking at my life I realized that I had a heart of stone and didnt want to live that way any longer. I prayed to God to change me and teach me to love. Over the next ten years God worked in my life. In 1999, I met my current husband who is a Christian and we began reading the Bible together. That's where I learned about Jesus Christ. I made a committment to follow Jesus and was baptized at the ageof 52. I began working in the ESL Ministry of our church and subsequently became involved in Karen's WORD for ESL ministry. I have been so richly blessed by Karen's teaching and highly recommend these lectures to those who seek a New Life.
John and Sue Lee write,
The WORD for ESL will help you to understand what the gospel is. Karen Hamade will guide your through her own spiritual journey and provide definite explanations about important issues in Christianity. This course is especially useful to people who use English as a second language because her pronunciation is very clear. Since 2007, we have seen many people accept Jesus Christ as their Savior through this course. Whenever we attend the course as table leaders we feel Karen is led by the Holy Spirit. We believe that this course will help anyone who is thirsting for a genuine encounter with Jesus Christ.
Daniel Lee writes,
The WORD for ESL is a powerful ESL tool which provides life-giving water. I met Karen through the ESL Ministry at our church. She spoke about the Bible and her experiences with Jesus Christ. Her testimonies stunned me and made me wake up spiritually. I wanted to share her teaching with others so I started to record every lecture. I think it is a privilege to hear such a clear message and I hope more people will have an opportunity to hear it. God's blessing.
The World Wide WORD for ESL is part of a growing virtual Christian community.
